In order to guarantee the security level of wireless connections, WiFi PT recommends clients to take some precautions. Like any wireless service, WiFi PT isn't 100% secure and it is important to detain the necessary programs to save your information.
Users should disable all shared folders and drivers before connecting to the internet, have an updated antivirus and, in the case of more experienced users, a personal firewall.
WiFi PT HotSpots are equipped with:
- Anti-IP Spoofing technology
- SSL access to the authentication portal
You can access your company's internal network if you have the necessary information and tools to access a VPN (Virtual Private Network), namely client's software and firewall.
WiFi PT installs access points in the chosen public zones, which transmit radio signals to the user's 802.11b/g wireless adapter. If the client is at a WiFi PT HotSpot and opens his Internet browser, an authentication page will appear where he will enter his username and password. As soon as the access code is accepted, he can surf the Internet.
The WiFi PT service is available through radio waves, allowing a high speed Internet access of up to 54Mbits.
